WHO WE ARE

Justice Speaks is a non-profit organization that exists for the ending of human trafficking. We care deeply for the 27 million victims of human trafficking worldwide, the majority of whom are women and children forced into sex trade. Justice Speaks is empowering a generation of Justice Champions to be the answer to this massive global injustice of our day through education and activation. Our organization is currently fighting human trafficking in the United States and in Asia.

SEX-TRAFFICKING

Sex trafficking comprises a significant portion of overall human trafficking. When a person is coerced, forced, or deceived into prostitution, or maintained in prostitution through coercion, that person is a victim of trafficking according to the 2009 (U.S. Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report, 2009) Women and children are the primary victims of this form trafficking globally, though the 2012 United Nations Global Report on Trafficking in Persons found that men are also targeted in some regions of the world (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, 2012) 

 

Women and children are used, bought and sold for sex in every continent of the globe. In the United States, the average age of girls entering into prostitution is 12-14. Many of whom were runaways or had grown up from abused backgrounds. They are vulnerable and preyed on by pimps and traffickers. Victims of sex-trafficking are exploited in prostitution, pornography, strip clubs, online escort services, massage parlors and brothels.
